UK launches consultation to unlock 5G SA investment
The U.K. government has opened a market review to work out how to pay for nationwide standalone 5G by 2030. Officials estimate the country will need up to $46.3 billion (£34 billion) to roll out advanced 5G networks over the rest of the decade.
The consultation asks operators and other industry players for views on investment conditions, competition, and regulation. The aim is to identify what policy changes, if any, are needed to support large-scale deployment while keeping the market competitive and services reliable.
