Telecom subscriber churn stays high as competition heats up
Mobile users are still switching operators in large numbers as competition in the telecom market remains intense. Fresh data from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) shows that requests to port numbers are concentrated in a few busy regions.
Uttar Pradesh East and West circles together saw over 3.3 million mobile number portability requests, while Madhya Pradesh recorded about 1.4 million and Bihar around 1.3 million. The steady flow of porting in these circles underlines how quickly subscribers are willing to move when they see better plans, coverage, or service from rival networks.
