T-Mobile US’ switching strategy lands in court again
T-Mobile’s hard push to lure customers from rival carriers is drawing fresh legal fire. Verizon has filed suit over T-Mobile marketing that promises up to $1,000 in savings for switchers, arguing the claim misleads consumers. The case follows a separate challenge from AT&T, which is targeting T-Mobile’s Easy Switch onboarding tool and other tactics used to convince customers to move their service.
Both lawsuits focus on how T-Mobile presents price comparisons, savings estimates, and switching tools in its promotions. The carriers say T-Mobile is overstating benefits and confusing customers about what they will actually pay. The disputes put T-Mobile’s headline claims and customer-acquisition strategy under closer legal and competitive scrutiny.
