Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has said satellite communication services in India will only move ahead once two conditions are met: security clearance and spectrum allocation. He underlined that the government is still finalising how to price satellite spectrum, a task handled by the Department of Telecommunications and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.
Scindia also said the government is working on issues related to Vodafone Idea but did not offer timelines or specifics. His comments signal that both satcom rollout and relief or policy decisions for Vodafone Idea remain pending, tied to regulatory and pricing decisions still under discussion.
