RTL targets return to growth in 2026 as streaming business reduces losses
RTL Group reported 2025 results in line with its lowered forecasts, as revenue slipped 3.8 percent to EUR 6.018 billion and adjusted EBITA fell. The company pointed to a weak TV advertising market and higher investment in streaming as key pressures on its traditional business. At the same time, RTL said losses in its streaming operations narrowed, helped by subscriber growth and cost controls.
Looking ahead, RTL is targeting a return to growth in 2026, betting that a leaner streaming business and stabilising ad trends will improve its performance. Management plans to keep investing in content and digital products while pushing further efficiency measures across the group, aiming to balance the shift from linear TV to online viewing without a repeat of this year’s profit drop.
