Quick Share-AirDrop interoperability is coming to all Android phones soon
Google’s AirDrop-compatible version of Quick Share is about to move beyond the Pixel 10 line. The company first rolled out the updated Quick Share to its latest Pixels last year, allowing them to exchange files with Apple devices using AirDrop.
Eric Kay, Google’s VP of Engineering, has now confirmed that this same Quick Share–AirDrop compatibility is coming to a broader range of Android phones. One hint was already visible: Google shifted the Quick Share Extension from a built-in system component to a standalone app on the Play Store, a move that usually means Google plans to update and distribute it widely across different devices.
