OpenAI partners with Tata to boost India's AI infrastructure
OpenAI has signed a deal with Indian conglomerate Tata Group to expand AI infrastructure in India, focusing on building local, AI-ready data centre capacity. The collaboration forms part of OpenAI’s global Stargate initiative, which aims to scale computing resources needed for advanced AI models.
By working with Tata, OpenAI plans to bring more of its AI capabilities closer to Indian users and organisations, reducing reliance on overseas infrastructure. The move is positioned as a step toward wider access to AI tools and services within India’s growing digital economy.
