Online safety-focused ISP Gigabit IQ seeking to crowdfund £270,000
UK internet provider Gigabit IQ has opened a crowdfunding round to raise £270,000, according to ISPreview. The firm, which focuses on online safety tools alongside full-fibre broadband, is pitching a pre-money valuation of £5 million and offering 5.12% equity to new backers via its campaign on Republic. At the time of reporting, 40 investors had committed £243,650.
Gigabit IQ sells fibre broadband bundled with services such as FamilyGuard+ and CyberGuard+ for home safety and device protection. The ISP says it can reach 1.5 million homes using wholesale access from networks including Full Fibre and F&W Networks. The company first flagged its crowdfunding plans in October last year, when it was targeting a larger £500,000 raise as part of what it describes as a community-centred approach to broadband.
