Omdia: Global smartphone shipments grew by 4% in Q4 25, Apple reigns supreme
Global smartphone shipments grew 4% in the last quarter of 2025, even as component costs rose, according to preliminary data from Omdia. Apple led the market and reached a record 25% share, meaning one in four phones shipped in Q4 was an iPhone.
Omdia links Apple’s performance to steady demand for the iPhone 17 lineup since its September launch, supported by ongoing interest in older models like the iPhone 16 series. The base iPhone 17 drove much of the volume during the holiday period, helping Apple widen its lead over rivals in a market that is growing, but only modestly.
