New York opens applications for municipal broadband grants
New York has reopened applications for its Municipal Infrastructure Program, making up to $36 million available for local broadband projects. The program is aimed at helping municipalities build or upgrade broadband infrastructure, particularly in areas that lack reliable, high-speed service.
Eligible local governments can apply for funds to plan, construct, or expand networks designed to close service gaps and improve connectivity for residents and businesses. The state will award grants based on need, project readiness, and the potential impact on unserved or underserved communities.
