New subsea cable to link Brazil with the US
V.tal plans to build a new subsea cable, called Synapse, to connect Brazil and the United States. The system will run roughly 9,700 kilometers between São Paulo and New Jersey and will use 16 fiber pairs. The route adds another high-capacity path for data traffic between South and North America.
The project also positions Fortaleza as a key landing point and regional hub on the route. By adding a new corridor, Synapse is expected to diversify existing connectivity, reduce dependence on current cables, and strengthen international links for internet and cloud services between Brazil and the U.S.
