MasOrange expands 5G-A tech across Spain with Ericsson
MasOrange is rolling out 5G-Advanced (5G-A) across Spain with Ericsson, switching on new radio access network features in 20 cities, including Madrid and Barcelona. The upgrade focuses on improving efficiency and cutting latency, using tools such as carrier aggregation, Reduced Capability (RedCap) for simpler devices, and Low Latency, Low Loss, Scalable Throughput (L4S).
According to the companies, the enhanced network is positioned to handle demanding uses like cloud gaming, real-time video, augmented and virtual reality, and connected wearables. The changes are happening at the network level nationwide, even as 5G-A branding centers on major urban areas.
