Madagascar’s Ministry of Digital Development has confirmed that mobile and internet operators will lower tariffs from this week, after negotiations aimed at making online access more affordable. The move, reported by TechAfrica News, is part of a wider push to expand digital connectivity in the country.
Officials expect cheaper data to encourage more people and businesses to use online services, though details on the size of the cuts and any conditions attached were not disclosed. The ministry framed the tariff reduction as a step toward broader digital inclusion rather than a temporary promotion.
