Liberty Global buys out Vodafone in Dutch joint venture, plans Amsterdam listing in 2027
Liberty Global will acquire Vodafone Group’s 50 percent share in their Dutch joint venture, VodafoneZiggo, taking full control of the company. The deal ends the partnership that combined Vodafone’s mobile operations with Ziggo’s cable network in the Netherlands and positions Liberty Global as the sole owner of one of the country’s largest telecom operators.
After the buyout, Liberty Global plans to list VodafoneZiggo on the Amsterdam stock exchange in 2027. The move signals a shift toward giving the Dutch unit its own market profile and investor base, while Liberty Global focuses on extracting more value from the business under a single-owner structure.
