Kyivstar, Vodafone Ukraine and lifecell launch 5G pilot in Lviv
Ukraine has switched on a 5G pilot zone in Lviv, a controlled test run led by the Ministry of Digital Transformation together with the country’s three main mobile operators: Kyivstar, Vodafone Ukraine and lifecell.
The trial is limited in scope and framed clearly as preparation for a broader 5G rollout once the war with Russia is over. For now, the focus is on testing how next‑generation mobile networks can work in local conditions, so operators are ready to scale when security and reconstruction priorities allow.
