Instagram now lets you see and control your algorithm
Instagram now lets people inspect and adjust the Reels algorithm that decides what they see. A new icon with two lines and hearts in the upper right corner opens a list of topics Instagram thinks match a user’s interests.
From there, users can tell the app which subjects they want more or less of, and the recommendation feed will change based on those choices. Instagram also lets people share this auto-generated interest list to their Stories, making the algorithm’s view of their tastes visible to friends and followers.
