Indonesian telecom market set for data-driven growth
Indonesia’s telecoms revenue is forecast to grow at a compound annual rate of 3.7% from 2024 to 2029, driven mainly by rising demand for mobile data and fibre broadband, according to analysis from GlobalData.
Mobile data will remain the largest revenue source, helped by expanding 4G coverage and new 5G deployments, as well as higher data use per subscriber. Fixed broadband revenue will rise as operators push fibre-to-the-home and fibre-to-the-building services, with more households and businesses upgrading from older technologies. Voice and messaging will continue to decline, but not enough to offset data-led growth. Major operators are expected to focus investment on network upgrades and fibre expansion to capture this shift in usage.
