India crosses 1 billion broadband users, marking a decade of rapid growth: TRAI
India’s broadband subscriber base crossed 1 billion in November 2025, according to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). The regulator said the number of broadband users has grown more than sixfold over the past ten years, underscoring how quickly internet access has expanded across the country.
TRAI’s latest figures highlight the scale of India’s digital shift, driven by cheaper data tariffs, expanding mobile networks and wider adoption of internet services in both urban and rural areas. The regulator’s release positions the 1‑billion mark as a key milestone in the country’s broader digital growth.
