The GSMA has launched a new innovation fund aimed at small enterprises in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) that use mobile and digital technology to support the green transition. The fund is designed to back projects that cut emissions, improve energy efficiency or otherwise help move local economies toward more sustainable practices.

By targeting smaller businesses, the initiative focuses on early-stage and local solutions rather than large corporate programmes. The GSMA says the fund will prioritise practical applications of mobile and digital tools that can be scaled within LMICs to support climate goals and more sustainable development.
