Google subsea cable reaches Sydney

Google’s new Tabua subsea cable has come ashore in Sydney, marking its second Australian landing after Queensland. The system will link the U.S. and Australia via Fiji and is expected to enter service later this year.
Google says Tabua is a high‑capacity system built to strengthen Australia’s international connectivity, adding another route for traffic between North America and the Pacific region. The Sydney and Queensland landings give Australia more redundancy and bandwidth for cross‑ocean data traffic.
