Nokia is teaming up with Amazon Web Services to run a live demo of an "agentic" AI-powered 5G-Advanced network slicing system, and has signed up UAE operator du and France-based Orange as the first participants. The showcase, scheduled for Mobile World Congress 2026, will run on their live networks.
The trial is meant to show how AI can manage 5G-Advanced network slices – virtual segments of a mobile network tailored for specific services or customers – in real time. Nokia and AWS plan to use the demo to test how well AI can automate and optimize this process in a commercial setting.
