Deutsche Telekom says bye to spoof biz calls with Hiya and First Orion
Deutsche Telekom is rolling out branded calling to make business calls on its mobile network easier to identify and harder to fake. Working with US firms Hiya and First Orion, the operator will let verified companies display their name, logo, and call reason on the recipient’s screen.
The aim is to cut down on spoofed and fraudulent calls that have pushed many people to ignore unknown numbers, undermining legitimate business contact. By tying caller ID to vetted business profiles, Deutsche Telekom is trying to bring some basic trust back to phone calls, rather than leaving users to guess which calls are real and which are scams.
