China Mobile’s Li Huidi Backs ‘L4’ Autonomous Networks at MWC 2026
At MWC 2026 in Barcelona, China Mobile Executive Vice President Li Huidi used the Autonomous Networks Summit to push the operator’s vision for so‑called “Level 4” (L4) autonomous networks. Speaking under the banner “AN L4 Powering the IQ Era”, Li framed L4 as a way to raise network intelligence, automate more operations and prepare infrastructure for heavier data and service demands.
The L4 label refers to a high degree of network self-management, with systems expected to handle most routine tasks and adjustments with limited human intervention. Li’s remarks fit into a wider industry push to cut operating costs, improve service reliability and support new services by making networks more automated and data-driven.
