Cable One launches mobile with by-the-gig and unlimited plans
Cable One has moved beyond fixed broadband and into wireless with the launch of Sparklight Mobile, following a pilot run with Reach and AT&T. The service uses AT&T’s network and offers two basic options: pay by the gig or go unlimited.
Plans start at $15 per month, aimed mainly at existing Sparklight broadband customers who want to add mobile service without switching providers. Cable One joins other cable operators using mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) deals to fold wireless into their bundles and keep broadband subscribers from drifting to rivals.
