BSNL mulls 4G expansion in India
India’s state-run operator BSNL is weighing another round of 4G expansion after rolling out about 98,000 4G sites across the country. The Indian government is considering a proposal for roughly 22,000 additional 4G sites, but final technical specifications are still under review before a new order can be placed.
A consortium led by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) remains central to BSNL’s 4G rollout. Any further deployment is expected to run through this group once the government clears the specs and approves the expansion.
