AT&T sues T-Mobile US over “Easy Switch” tool, alleges AI-driven data scraping

Source: RCR Wireless NewsDecember 4, 2025

AT&T has filed a federal lawsuit against T-Mobile US, accusing its rival of using an AI-powered onboarding tool called "Easy Switch" to improperly scrape and use AT&T customer data.

T-Mobile has marketed Easy Switch as a way for new customers to move their phone service to its network in about 15 minutes. AT&T claims the system goes beyond simple number transfers and instead mines proprietary customer information from AT&T systems without permission. The complaint argues that this alleged data scraping gives T-Mobile an unfair advantage in targeting and signing up AT&T subscribers. T-Mobile has promoted the tool as a convenience feature for consumers; AT&T is asking the court to stop its use and award damages for what it calls unauthorized access and misuse of its data.
