AT&T Steps Up Fiber Build to Catch Lumen
AT&T is accelerating its fiber deployment as it tries to close the gap with Lumen and other rivals in high-speed broadband. The company has a long-term goal to reach 60 million locations with fiber by 2030.
To hit that target, AT&T plans to increase its fiber build rate to 4 million locations in 2026, then push that up to 5 million locations a year through the end of the decade. The faster rollout is meant to boost AT&T’s footprint in competitive markets where fiber is now the standard for residential and business internet service.
