AT&T Sponsors Free Wi-Fi on American Airlines Flights
American Airlines will offer free satellite-based Wi-Fi on many of its flights this year, paid for by AT&T. The deal covers roughly two million flights and is limited to passengers enrolled in American’s AAdvantage loyalty program.
The offer turns in-flight Wi-Fi into an ad-supported service: AT&T picks up the cost in exchange for exposure to travelers, while American uses the perk to add value to its loyalty program. Non-members will still need to pay or sign up if they want the same access.
