AT&T fires another legal salvo at T-Mobile
AT&T has expanded its lawsuit against T-Mobile, accusing its rival of false advertising tied to T-Mobile’s “Switching Made Easy” promotion. AT&T argues the campaign misleads customers about what they will actually receive when they switch carriers, and claims T-Mobile’s marketing overstates the benefits and understates the costs.
Verizon has now joined the legal pile-on with its own suit targeting the same promotion. The two incumbents are pressing their case that T-Mobile’s aggressive switcher offers cross the line from hard selling into deception, setting up a broader fight over how far US carriers can go in luring customers away from competitors.
