Airtel asks government for parity on AGR dues relief
Bharti Airtel has asked the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to give it the same options on adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues that Vodafone Idea received. On an earnings call, Airtel executive vice-chairman Gopal Vittal said the company has written to the DoT and is waiting for a response.
Vittal did not share details of the request but made it clear Airtel wants equal treatment on how AGR liabilities are handled. The move follows recent government relief measures for Vodafone Idea, including changes in how past statutory dues can be converted or restructured.
